Tim was born just outside of Boston in Newton, Massachusetts. He left to explore the world... at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. By junior year, he was no longer able to reconcile UW-Mıs mascot ("Bucky Badger") with his burgeoning branding aesthetic and dropped out, moving back to Boston where he landed a job in a graphic design studio and fell madly in love with fonts and rubylith.
He moved to NYC to finish his BA in Illustration at the School of Visual Arts. After graduating, he celebrated by taking a vacation to San Francisco that lasted the next 6 1/2 years. During this sojourn, he learned how to turn on a computer and design dimensionally, freelancing for The Sharper Image and other clients. He eventually migrated to Southern California where he earned an MFA in Painting and Drawing from Cal State Fullerton.
Timıs influences and inspirations range from the "M words" - Minimalism, Modernism and Man (as in "THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR...") to Andre Agassi and Jasper Johns. An appreciation of language, everything instinctive and pop culture as collage inform his design and artwork.
With an abiding passion for palette and packaging, he believes that "there are no color clashes, as nature doesn't clash" and that "every single detail - from the materials and method to the context of delivery" play an essential role in shaping a messageıs design.
Tim likes to play tennis, and go fishing and camping with his dog, Trout, who is greatly improving at the net.
